With Christmas and New Year around the corner, you can’t think of anything else but partying! And when it comes to party, it’s all about booze. We all love to drink, but no one wants a hangover! So here are tried and tested tip to avoid one.
Drink loads of water: You can drink two – three glasses of warm water before leaving for the party. This will prevent dehydration, which helps prevent hangover (or lower the effect). Don’t forget to stay hydrated during the party as well.
Stick to lighter drinks: Most people say that drinking dark liquors like brandy, tequilas and whiskey gives a hangover. This is the reason, why you should stick to lighter drinks like beer and wine.

Eat as you drink: The basic rule to avoid getting high when drunk is not to drink on an empty stomach. Eating while drinking prevents you from getting drunk and thus, helps you to avoid an headache the next morning.
Bottoms up, no thanks: A common mistake that most people make is gulp down the drink at once. Take your time with the drink so that your body absorbs it slowly.
Limit the number of cocktails as well: Who said cocktails don’t get you high? Avoid cocktails that contain a mixture of alcohols, like LIIT (Long island ice tea) which contain 5 types of alcohol. Instead you can opt for bloody marry, pina colado or martinis which contain only one type of alcohol with fruit juices.
Avoid smoking when drunk: If you smoke, you might feel the urge to smoke when drunk. And if you do so, you might end up drinking more. This in turn will make you high and dehydrated, giving you a massive hangover.
