The more alcohol you drink, the more you crave for pizzas, french fries and nachos. However, these indulgences can lead to indigestion, dehydration and a bad hangover. So don’t binge on these foods when buzzed, says nutritionist Deepika Agarwal.
Hot sauces: Indulging in late night noodles and pasta can be a disaster. Alcohol keeps your digestive juices down, and the acidic tomatoes in salsa sauce can provoke acid reflux and heartburn.
Fried foods: Fried foods contain a lot of salts that can dehydrate you further and make you thirsty. So make sure to not order a plate of French fries and nachos.
Citrus fruits: Don’t eat citrus fruits when drunk as they can make the stomach produce more amount of acid than it usually does, leading to acidity and heartburn. Instead, eat watermelon or a banana that will help hydrate your body.
Sweets: Sweets and candies are not only full of empty calories, but they can also make you want to drink more and dehydrate your body. So avoid binging on that leftover cupcake.
Pizzas: Indulging in late night cheese pizzas can also be a terrible idea. Cheese, when consumed with alcohol, can be a sure shot recipe to indigestion and heartburn.
